I Graduated!

After 2 years of hard work, I have my diploma. Here is a retrospective on my journey and what I learned.

Graduated

That's it, then. After a long search for the right path, I finally have my diploma: a Graduate degree in Digital Design (Web), with greatest distinction. Honestly, I still don't fully understand that last part myself.

How I got here

It took me a while to figure out what I actually wanted to do. I started out in Business Management, then tried Event Management, but neither felt like the right fit. Until I eventually landed on development. From the moment I actually started programming, I knew I'd found something worth chasing.

The program

Two years of writing code, breaking it, rewriting it, and doing it all over again. From my very first "Hello World" to shipping full projects. The program and the people behind it were great: the lecturers didn't just teach me to code, they taught me to think like a developer. Every bug was a lesson, every working deploy a small win.

The internship

During my internship at Be A Legend / Be A Rebel in Hasselt, I got the chance to build full client projects as the sole developer, using Next.js and Payload CMS. From TEP (a bilingual site with several integrations) to Isomosi. I went from "learning at school" to "a client actually needs this," and that difference teaches you more than any course could.

What's next

I'm now looking for the next step: a job as a developer where I can build, learn, and contribute.

Here's to the next chapter.
